A Safer Laboratory

Safer products for the histology laboratory

Xylene and formalin are still part of daily work in most laboratories. Our safer products reduce them, without asking your team to change the way it works.

The best way to reduce exposure to harmful chemicals is to choose reagents formulated without them wherever possible.

Fume hoods and ventilation reduce exposure. Safer reagents reduce it at the source.

XUP™ · Clearing reagent

Deparaffinize and clear without xylene

XUP™ replaces xylene in tissue processing and staining, so your laboratory keeps its existing process while the xylene vapor leaves the room.

  • Xylene-free clearing and deparaffinization
  • Keep your existing process
  • Results from your current protocol are fully preserved.
  • Its vapor level is about 6 times lower compared to xylene.

Stain evaluation support

Switch to safer products. Your staining results stay the same.

Before you change anything, our team compares XUP™ against your current protocol using your own tissue, so you can validate staining quality with real slides.

  1. Collect

Prepare 3 stained slides from your current protocol and 10 unstained slides from the same blocks.

  2. Evaluate

We stain the unstained slides using XUP™ and compare the results side by side with your reference slides.

  3. Deliver

You receive the stained slides and a summary of the comparison for your pathologists to review.

XUP™ Mount · Mounting medium

No more xylene fumes at your microscope

A xylene-free mounting medium for XUP™ that keeps coverslipped slides clear, so the last step of your workflow is as safe as the first. Pairs with XUP™ for a fully xylene-free workflow.
